Rose Water
Rosa x damascenaTHE PLANT
Most of the world’s production is spread between Morocco, Bulgaria and Turkey. Each countries rose has a particular character and olfactory notes, just like the different terroirs for wine. Harvested at dawn during May and June, the early morning harvest ensures the high concentration of aromas. Picked by hand, the flower heads are detached from their bases. Once harvested the flowers are processed quickly to avoid damage to the precious petals.
THE HYDROSOL
- Because rose oil is so highly prized, rose water is often re-distilled one or more times to remove as much oil as possible, this leaves the remaining water very low or without oil. Some producers then add rose fragrance (possibly synthetic) after. This is not the case with Atlassence, our rose floral water is distilled once to retain as much precious rose oil as possible. 100% organic with no added synthetics.
FOR PERFUMERY
Moroccan rose water is used in compounds or alone as a perfume due to its potent, sweet scent.
