Black Seed Oil
Nigella sativaThe plant
Black Seed Oil is produced from Nigella sativa, a small plant with pale purple, blue or white flowers that grow across Eastern Europe, Western Asia, North Africa and the Middle East. The tiny black seeds from the fruits have been used as a natural remedy for thousands of years. They have also been used to flavour curries, pickles and bread in a similar way to cumin or oregano.
THE OIL
The oil of Nigella sativa seeds are extracted using a cold hydraulic press. The pressure, temperature and thickness of cake is optimised to obtain a high oil yield. The oil once produced is rich in unsaturated fatty acids (over 80%), vitamins and minerals making it’s application ideal for dry, sensitive or irritated skin.
For Aromatherapy
The high content of vitamins, minerals and unsaturated fatty acids offer great healing properties to the skin. It has antibacterial and disinfectant effects, helps to treat acne, eczema, psoriasis as well as fungal infections. It is also excellent for dry and weak hair. In massage it is used to calm spasms and inflammations.
